What is an historic site?
For the purposes of the Oakland Regional Historic Sites database, a site/property will be eligible for inclusion if it meets at least one of the following conditions:
1. It contains buildings or significant objects that are at least 75 years of age with enough remaining historical integrity to reflect their original construction and/or purpose.
2. It contains buildings or significant objects less than 75 years of age which are shown after evaluation to be eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places or State Register of Historic Places according to the criteria set forth by those programs, or are contributing parts of an established local historic district.
3. It contains a notable monument or memorial.
